How to make your PC say welcome when you switch it on

How exciting it would be if whenever you switch on your PC, the computer says welcome to you in his own voice. Today, I am going to tell you how to enjoy this fantastic facility. You can enjoy it without help of any third party software. This is a trick which you can do with Notepad.

You just need to create a Visual Basic Script for this facility. Now follow the following steps to make your PC welcome you after the startup.

  • Firstly open Notepad and paste the code below.

Dim speaks, speech
speaks=”Welcome to John’s computer”
Set speech=CreateObject(“sapi.spvoice”)
speech.Speak speaks

  • Then you can replace the text Welcome to Divyansh’s computer from your own welcome words which you want to hear when you start the computer. If you want to hear this sound only, then replace the word Divyansh with your own word.
  • Now save the file but write .vbs after the name you have decided for your file, then select all files in the Save as type menu, sect the place where you want to save your file and save it.
  • Now put the .vbs file in the targeted folder. To do so, copy the file and paste it

If you using Windows XP then open the following folder :

Go to C: >Documents and Settings>All Users>Start Menu>Programs>Startup

And if you are using Windows Vista/7/8 then go to the following folder

C:>Users>(User Name)>App Data>Roaming>Microsoft>Windows>Start Menu>Programs>Startup.

Note : Remember that App data is a hidden app so you have to go to view hidden icons to go to App data.

Congratulations, you are done now.
